Default Cold Air Intake Help

I have an 04 RAM with a HEMI and I want to get a CAI. I know that the HEMI hat is what causes most of the air restriction. I want to find a kit that requires the HEMI hat to be removed. This is were I need the help, there are lots of kits that connect to the HEMI hat, but I haven't really found any kits that connect directly to the TB. Another problem I have is that I'm on a budget. Any suggestions would be a big help, and if you have a picture of your own set up that would be great. Please and Thanks.

There are some on eBay. There are several from K&N, etc....but expensive. Some auto parts stores have pieces to make your own.(Auto Zone) Some people have made their own using "****ter pipe," meaning they bought PVC from Home Depot and constructed a pretty good lookin' device!

I bought mine on eBay for about $40 and put a real K&N filter on it for another $40.

I have the AEM Brute force on my 04 hemi, it removes the hemi hat and so I am really pleased with the kit and it was a good price.

I have been using an Airaid kit now for a while and its great. I got it for 100 bucks, shipped. It connects straight to the Throttle Body and also to the air filter box. I replaced the original filter with an Amsoil synthetic that improves air flow. It is not exactly a CAI, but still does the job. Personally, I like the fact that I dont have a cone filter just sitting under my hood.

Check out this thread... me and severe distortion went with the same setup.

thank you for all your help. rssjib i want to find a set up like yours. but i am having a hard time finding one on ebay that connects to the TB. the only one i can find is one that extends the air filter all the way down by the tire. I thought about buying that one and just cutting some off so that the filter will be in the same place as rssjib's . would that work.

I just installed this K&N 57 series. This one also goes right to the TB and sounds awsome. Its a bit expensive, $310 at my local performance shop, but i think it was worth it.
