There was a TSB, but it didn't apply to my truck... same symptoms, same everything, wrong transmission.

So, I went for a drive with the head mechanic today... He agrees its not a bent rim causing the problem (which is good, because after I took it to a tire shop and had the tire balanced.. no bend!)

He had his computer hooked up to it and we drove around for over an hour. He's completely confused. Every time he had an idea, it had already been done. The Torque Converter, Solenoids, Flush, etc...

He reset the computer in the truck and the problem has gone away. He's leaning towards my driving style + the learning, causing an unexpected drone. He does agree that the truck shouldn't be doing this and he's taking the logs to the engineers for assessment.

I must say, at this point, I'm happy with how he's gathering the information before making snap assumptions that the problem is something that I'm at fault for. I was a little pissed off when they told me it's been a bent rim the whole time...

As far as your truck though A4, my truck hasn't leaked, so I'm not sure what to say.. a leak should be easy to fix..

you would think but it's leaking again, not much but for the age of the truck anything is too much. good luck getting your truck straightened out

First thing i thought of after reading it for a second time now a few months later. 63kmh is 40mph. My truck with a catback had excessive pulsation which sounded like a helicopter because the truck was in 4th gear and the mds would kick in.
I read very closely and you said you "Noticed"
I take that and it portrays to me as the problem has always been there and you've just finally noticed it. Now that you have, you will always recognize this problem.
I purchased a Diablo Predator to specifically turn off my MDS. The truck shifts and runs so much smoother it's really unbelievable.
When the truck had the original exhaust on it, the mds was so very faint. Once I picked up the tone, I always new when it kicked in. That my friend is got to be the rumble strip/helicopter noise/vibration you are speaking of.
$320 will solve your mind problems. There's nothing wrong with your truck. That's why there are no codes. It will just be annoying is all unless you disable the mds. Your dealer may turn it off for you to see if that is indeed the problem. Dealers here in the states won't because of emissions.

If the scanner showed the converter clutch going in and out, perhaps the pcm is bad, since it goes away after it was reset.

I think i am going through the same thing. At 60 to 65 mph, the truck starts shaking...not in the steering wheel, but in the seats, right at your but it seems like. Had it balanced and aligned and it still does it. 30,000 miles on the truck. Can anyone give me input on this?
