Transmission Shudder... and more!! I'm sick of it!
I really appreciate everyon's feedback on this issue.
I'm sure everyone here has met that one mechanic who gives it to you straight, without worry that you'll flip out, and just tells you the honest truth, with knowledge to back it up. I finally found that individual at the dealership.
He drove around with me for 1.5 hours, spoke with the engineers for me and they have determined there is nothing wrong with the truck. Apparently the way I drive the truck the transmission has "learned" a pattern that is creating a negative experience in the truck. What's happening is MDS AND partial lockup are happening at the same time.
Dodge knows of the problem, but they won't fix it because it's just not a big issue for them. No one is dying, its not causing losses (not like they could stand any right now anyways), so the mechanic told me basically, I'm SOL. I could complain to their engineering department, but what's the point.
I'm thinking the $300 is going to be worth it. I'm going to speak with the dealership about having MDS disabled, not sure if they can or not.
At long last, its nice to know that nothing is actually wrong with the truck. It's not going to fail on me, its not dying, its not a reliability issue. More of a nuisance than anything.
Again, thanks for all your suggestions, and hopefully this thread will serve as documentation that the issue does exist, and it'll save someone from countless hours of fighting with a service department somewhere else in the world.
