Moe's Performance offers a direct fit electric fan kit pretty reasonable.
The e-fan is a nice mod. If you don't want to pay the price for the kit you can buy just the controller from Moe's and then get a fan from a pick and pull off of a 3.8 Taurus. It is a 2 speed fan that is capable of flowing more air than the flex-a-lite 180. That is what I did and the fan fits directly inside the stock shroud. Everything needed including fan, controller and materials to mount the fan to the radiator only cost $140.

Not sure if any of you are still following this thread but I wanted to update a few things concerning my truck mods to date.....

1. If any of you buy the Motive 4.56 gears "with the install kit" keep a real good watch on your diff case temp the first few hundred miles.... The inner pinion bearing that came with the kit failed in less then 500 miles... My diff was running hotter then normal so we tore it back down and found the bad bearing.....Several of us at the dealership looked over the bearing after it was removed and nobody can see an obvious reason it failed. The race pitted real bad and began coming apart. We're leaning towards a bad bearing.....

2. After installing the TransGo 545RFE HD shift kit I've been breaking things.
I first broke the tranny mount, replaced it, and installed a cable over the tranny to hold it down to the cross member, Tranny can no longer jump during shift now.
After that it broke the rear u-joint. both broke during the 1 to 2 shift.

And this is on a 28,000 mile truck. So please be aware of these inconveniences if your planning on doing these mods.

Other then that, huge difference in the truck.... It shifts harder then hell and the new gear really improved the hole shot. As silly as it sounds, I kinda wish the 20" tires would bark instead of hooking and breaking things but it's all fun either way.

I guess if you play, you pay lol

Later!
