Manual trans/Manual tcase...anyone?
well the 5.2 and 5.9 are the same block with different stroke and bore(i think)
so if they used a manual on the 5.2 it should bolt right up the the 5.9. now the question is will the tranny hold up the the extra power of the 5.9? i do believe they threw a couple manuals in with the 5.9 maybe on the 2500's but not sure of the 1500's, maybe the base models with crank windows and an 8-track player. I think the manual trans for the gas engines was the NV4500? Not 100% sure though. The 5.2 was rated at 300 tq and the 5.9 at 330. They are the same block. The trans should hold up to a little more power without burning up.
I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the last year the manual transfer case was available on the 1500's was '05, which was also the first year the getrag 6-speed was available, again I could be wrong. But if I'm correct then there was that one year window with the 1500's that the 6-speed manual and manual transfer case were both available. That would be about the perfect setup, with whatever V8 was available.

its almost like chrysler doesnt want you to be 100% happy but only like 90% and then there is that one thing you wish was different, but they didnt offer it. even though like thousands of other people would have loved to have it.
They only offer what the masses want. There are no V8 manual trans 1500's made by Dodge or F150's by Ford. All auto transmissions because this is what 99% of buyers want. Not worth the extra money to reconfigure the truck for a manual trans for 1% of buyers.
