already a DIY done for this by redram.

definitely heat it up to take it apart, much easier. i didn't put it in the freezer, and only a little bit of chrome came off (not noticeable unless you right up to the light and stare). apparently if you put it in the freezer it helps keep the chrome from peeling. if you do it, don't worry about breaking the clips when you try to take the lens off, i broke most of mine, doesn't seem to matter. you'll know what i'm talking about when if/when you do it.

i used duplicolor rattle can. don't remember exactly what color it was, but the cap looked the same color as the truck, so i went for it. turned out great.

i was going to take the lenses out but didnt want to leave the holes there or fill them up with bondo or whatever.
and are you talking about tinting my hella's? i really wouldnt want to loose any light output from them. are you talking about tinting the glass or painting the chrome reflector? or did i completely misunderstand?

im thinking about painting my bugsheild black, along with selling my tonneau and getting a black fold up one. or black bed rails . havnt decided yet.

I was thinking of tinting the amber lense reflector on mine. I just don't want to have to do the whole oven process again just to get them back in. I was however asking if you were going to tint your Hella's.

i dont think so , they kinda match the main headlight reflector and everything around them is black, but i tried to paint the area around my foglights black, but couldnt get a good edge around them with the tape looking like a octogon. i want a good clean circle around them with sharp lines. anyone have any ideas?

was also thinking about painting all my badges black along with the bugshield.
