Torsion Bars
I did not have to. I plan on replacing all 4 this summer but not becasue of the lifting the front 2 inchs. Besides shocks are more for dampening any up ward movement of the wheel and when you lift you are moving the wheel down, actually gives the shock more up travel then at stock hight.
yes I suppose that loosening the bolts would lower it but I would not go any more that an 1" or you could possably take to much of the tension in the bars out and and make the front suspension to soft. My alignment was not to bad when I replaced mine the tech said I could have drove on it with out to much tire damage but he allready had it on the rack, Only had to adjust one wheel and it was only 2 degrees toed in from where it is suppose to be. guess I got lucky that way.
