I sent Sylvania an e-mail asking about why the SS bulbs do not project down the road as far as standard bulbs. I will reply when I hear back from them.

Hey Dirtydog,
Sylvania told me to tell you and any other Ram guys that have experienced the SilverStar H13 bulbs not projecting as far as the stock bulbs to go to their website and contact them. I had contacted them and told them of the distance issue and I feel that I should not have to adjust my headlights just because I changed bulbs. They replied and agreed that even though it sounds like an aiming issue, that I should not have to re aim the lights with new bulbs.
They told me to either mail in a copy of the receipt along with the email or the bulbs in question and they will send me another set to try. I sent in the receipt.
I suggest if you still have the receipt, that you contact them and do the same. Explain that you own a Ram truck and that you too are having the same projection length issues.
You might get a free set of bulbs that work, who knows.

Jimmy

I got my replacement set today. Same issue. I was comparing them to the stock Phillips bulbs and found that the coating that is on the end of the bulb, goes farther down the bulb on the Silverstars, this makes the bulb seem shorter and can effect the way that the light is reflected in the housing. I am going to try to scrape some of tomorrow and see if it changes anything. It appears to be about 1/8" farther up the bulb.

Make sure you have alcohol wipes handy for the bulb afterwards.
