Default Silverstars

Everyone else posts mulitple threads about stuff, so it's my turn!

Are they worth the $35.88 that Advance Auto is getting for them on sale right now? They made a big diff in my stratus, but that car had really old bulbs. The only available option are the Silverstars because Sylvania doesn't make the Ultras for the H13 bulb. That's okay, because the Ultras have more blue to them right? and I don't want that.

I get night blindness and want as much light as possible.
These are just temporary as I am working on getting new headlights and HID's, but that will take a little while and won't be until April or May. For now, what you think? Waste of $$$$?
Right on the package it sayd 25% light increase over standard bulb. Then on the back it sayd they compare a standard bulb at 80% output to their 100% output? WTF That's not fair!

in my opinion its a waste of money they say they are 30% brighter then stock bulbs but in the fine print it also says that the stock bulbs are tested at 80% while the silverstars are tested at 100% so really your only gettin 10% brighter and being as your truck is an 08 i doubt your bulbs have dimmed at all

i have trouble seeing at night, so im always on the search. ive had silver stars on every vehicle, and while i dont think they are truly worth it, id still do it again. i think the stock bulbs might shine futher, but the light is whiter vs the stock halogen yellowish/ w.e you want to call it. i guess what im really getting at, is there over rated.

They're good bulbs but I don't think they're worth the money...unless you need to replace the bulbs anyway. How about just putting them in your fogs? I think they make the ultras for the fogs and turning them on helps me a lot even with the stock bulbs...hell some people run the fogs all the time. Plus you won't be throwing money away when you finally do get your HID's...you'll have HID's and silver ultras in your fogs.

+1 on putting them in for your fogs. I replaced both the headlights and fogs with ultras and by far the fogs were more noticeable. The beam in the headlight seems more concentrated and doesn't seem to shine as far as the stock bulbs do. They are brighter and more white than the stocks, which is why I like them. This is the 3rd set of bulbs I've tried and will be keeping them till I put in hid's this summer. Try the fogs and see what you think. If you like them than try the headlights as well...

With silverstar fogs and HID headlights, wouldn't it look a bit off? I went with 4300k HIDs for the headlights, fogs and the Hellas so they all match. I wired them all into my hi beam so they all come on with the hi beam switch. My DRLs & hi beam are still halogen and suck as hi beam.
