but anyway, i always fill up at between 16 to 18 gallons of tank. When i filled up the tank the starting odometer reading was 64897 miles, then after 5 days or so i dont remember the last odometer reading was 65018 miles, for that i subtracted that number from 64,897 miles which came out 121 miles. i divided 121 by 16.9 gallons i filled the last time which came out to be 7.2 mpg.
Why are you dividing by 16.9? Is that the amount of gas you put in the tank to fill it back up after you drove the 121 miles? Was the tank full when you started the 121 mile run?

After you drove the 121 miles how many gallons did you put in? That is the number you divide into the miles not the 16.9 gallons you put in the previous time!
Also -- gotta fill it absolutely full, not to pump cut-off. Long-term, this is not good for the truck, but it's the only way to accurately determine the mileage. How 'bout tire sizes, are they stock?
yeah i think you'r doing your math wrong.......you take the miles you drove on your previous tank and then divide that ny the amount of gallons of gas you just put in
Do you let it idle and warm up for awhile? That along with winter blends of fuel can drop mileage considerably.
Thats for sure, since its gotten cold and i put my cai on my milage has dropped and i cant get back up to where it was. just have to wait for the spring.
