Exclamation The Dealer F'ed my truck up bad!!!

ok sooo im gonna start my first BI****ing and complaining thread...

So i went to the dealer today to get my oil changed and my tires rotated.. i usually do by this dealer because i have guys that i trust there and thats where i bought my ram... sooo before i go i wash my truck.. and i mean spit shinned it, i usually do i take care of my truck.. go to the dealer get that all done.. come home and decided to do some more spit shinning to the chrome and stuff... come to find out I look at my passenger side doors and see huge long scraches starting from where the wheel almost starts from the bed going across the back door and ending in the middle of my front passenger door... So i go rushing back to the dealer pissed the Heck off... go to my guy and go.. uggg we have a huge problem and i told him.. so he brings out the lease look over guy.. (the guy that looks at the shape of the truck when you bring your lease back) cleans the area the scratches are on.. and then starts to look over my whole truck looking at every little detail and saying to every little scratch he sees *how did this happen and why?* (i have a scratch where my handle is from when i open or shut my door while having my keys still in my hand.. no big deal not big at all or very noticeable my carelessness oh well... after all that bull he goes back to the scratched side, brings the body specialist out and looks at me and goes... nothing in our shop can create fine scratches like that.. and i start to freak out and tell them that these were not there when i brought my truck in and now they are just magically there.. i told them that i washed my truck before i came.. and started to ask me questions like *uhh did you take it to a drive threw, did you take it to a do it yourself wash, or hand wash it yourself*.. like everything i said they tried to pin it back to me... WOW.. gotta end the story they look at me and go come in in the morning we'll try to buff it out as much as we can anything else.. well dont know what to do its not our fault there is nothing that could of made these scratches in out shop..... so of course i agreed to it to see what they will do in the morning.. still mad becuase i sure didnt do that to my truck and im not one of those guys that will mess my truck up and blame someone else... so i get no where and gotta wait in the morning... but then i started to think for a second... They rotated my tires, my back tire is now in the front on the same side.. i know because there is a scratch in my rim that i noticed when i was washing that was in the back and now is in the front... the scratches almost start form the back tired and go straight forward moving to the front... SO! the guy that did my tire rotation must of scratched the crap outta my side when he rotated them... Makes perfect sence.. What do you guys think i should do?? what would you do? i need advice for tomorrow.. they are just gonna keep trying to make it my fault and try not to do anything about it...

Sry about the spelling and the format but... wow im really mad...

If it was me I would argue that they have a shop full of tools and equipment and don't have one thing that could make that scratch. That's BS! Most dealer would think customer first and give the customer the benefit of the doubt. Or at least that's what a good dealer should do. Hopefully you get some different employees tomorrow that can help you (the loyal customer) with the problem that the dealership created.

I would go back there and point it out to them. They need to learn to take responsibility. If they don't take responsibility, walk around the shop with them, grab a long breaker bar, and whack the guy over the back of the head with it. When he gets mad and asks why you did it, say "I'm sorry sir, but I didn't do it. I don't have near the strength to pick up such a heavy bar." Then see if he agrees with you.
But seriously they should take responsibility for their mistakes. That's just stupid when the mess up like that and try to blame it on you.

Idk what to really do... i cant tell them to replace the whole side of my truck... i cant ask them to just paint the scratches because knowing them they prolly will be off color or something... but the scratches have gone past the clear coat and took the paint off completely.. sooo idk what they are trying to think of just buffing it out... thats all they wanna do with it is just try to buff out scratches... its just not gonna happen..

i hope they fix it man but i kinda doubt it . my mom had her caliber in not to long ago. it was having some electrical problems . anyways when she gets it back theres a huge chunk missing from her bumper. so she goes back and there like oh that wasnt us musta been the tow truck guys cus the hole was right inline with the tow hooks in behind the bumper. so she goes to the tow truck place and they flat decked it and didnt even hook up to them they hooked up under the car so we know it wasnt them. We go back to the dealership and as we pull in we see them pulling another caliber with a quad and a cable going right into the bumper to the tow hooks. So my moms like ok wtf clearly thats what you guys did to my car and broke it. they were all no way mam we didnt tow your car we always just boosted it and drove it in. so anyways dodge wouldnt fix it and tow truck company wouldnt fix it so now shes got a huge chunk outta her bumper on her brand new car . I hope they dont screw you over like they screwed her over.

My wife's car had some rather larger scuffs on the front fender and a nick as well. My guess is the tire changer let the hose with the coupling on it touch the fender when he pulled down on it. They had the ceiling mount retractable hose reels.
We argued but it was a waste. They won't do anything unless you take them to court or make such a mess of a scene where you are belittling yourself to get coin in on their scratches.
I know detailing, so I just buffed the scratches with rubbing compound. The nick, well it's so small I just touched it up. But they would have had to repaint the whole fender for that mark that was right on the crease.

That sucks dude, I hope they take care of you.

My buddy had his 2 week old Suburban at the full service car wash a few weeks ago, it comes out with a scratch from front tire to back tire right underneath the door handles. He went back and demanded they pay for the repair. Of course they denied everything.

He comes back with his attorney a couple days later, speaks to the owner and demands the digital shots they take of the vehicle on the way in, and the way out. No scratch before, massive damage after. They matched the height of the damage to the wash arm. After a bit of arm twisting, they cut a check for the estimate.

I'd be willing to bet they have security footage of your truck going in, and coming out. Talk to the manager, remind him of how fast word can spread if you give out their name, and you'll have your proof.

Best of luck

see the thing is i wouldnt really care as much if it was just a few scratches i would let them buff it out and be done with it but the whole side is just full of scratches now and it will just make my fun of having a nice beautiful truck turn into an eye sore and a broken heart if you wanna put it that way for you truck lovers all becuase they had some careless guy not pay attention.. i think im gonna go to the point of what MTD said and start waving lawsuit into it and call it vandalism on there part... get security tapes see what it looks like comming in and out... i mean common its a nice big dealership.. they have cameras littered all over the place gettin every inch to make sure those new 09's arnt getting messed with...
