Default Mobil 1 Extended Performance

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has tried out Mobil 1 Extended Performance and if they like it. I like how it's a 15k oil but is it worth it?

What about their Advance Fuel Economy oil as well? Does it actually work? Would you recommend it for a Hemi?

Thanks!

I would never go 15k between oil changes. I have used synthetic in all my vechiles for 10 years. I still change the oil at 5k intervals. I use Castrol, Mobile 1, and Amsoil. They all seem to be the same and protect cold starts very well.

Ahwwwhack....Now thats thinking with your dipstick Jimmy!

The deal with the 15k oil is that you still have to change the filter and add a quart at regular oil change intervals. 3-5k depending on what you like.

TBH i wouldnt trust it, just because i dunno doesnt sound good to me :P

I had Amsoil in my Subaru for 33,000 km (20,000 mi), my kid had borrowed it for a lot of those miles delivering pizza, and I sent it away to be analyzed and the results came back that it was still better than petroleum oil brand new off the shelf.

I saw a commercial about that stuff yesterday. What did it say bc I was only half paying attention? Was it something like 4 times better protection than Mobil 1?

Over in CF (Chevy Forum) Ive been recommended that, I have a user who's used it in his car and truck, he's only had it like a week, and he's already seeing the difference in both.

I don't know personally, I still have about 1300miles to go before I need an oil change, and I think that I will end up changing it early when if I can go to Frostbite in 2 weeks, cause I will be up in KS for the event and I can use a bay on base to change my oil there, and the boys to taunt me as I change my oil for the first time on my own - this will be interesting to see myself!! LOL
