Yeah, new guy signs up and gives useful info w/his first post. Welcome to DF ott. And what I meant earlier is that inspections are required every year and we can renew registration in the mail.

RE:06 fails Pa Inspection
GatorKen.
I have an 06 Hemi Ram 4x4. I had my right front shock go on me. Took it to dealer. They didn't have it in stock, but got it in in 2 days and did a special install first thing in the morning for me; I was out by 10:30 am.
There are after-market shocks; Rancho comes to mind first, but you would want a set as they do not exactly match the OEM; probably better in fact and they are generally available. Bilstein also makes front shocks for our truck; maybe check them out too.
Good luck on resolving these issues.

Thank you for the welcome.
If you go on PA website you will find the inspection book, the book will tell you all the laws.
I would also say that in Pennsylvania in the winter you frame and suspension parts can have moister from road salt, also not everybody is so honest, how do you know they didn’t spray crc or something like that to look like a leak. I’m in the auto body trade and I’ve seen shocks and struts bent in half and still not leaking fluid out. Just something to think about.
This is just my opinion but a 2006 unless you have over 50,000 miles you should not need anything and you inspection should be something like $35 to $50 , a station only pays like $3.50 a sticker .
In a inspection you have to check lights , tires, ball joints, tie rods , brakes, horn, wipers.
I may be missing a few things.

Is this the inspection requirements: http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/06...5/s175.80.html
I paid 26$ for my last inspection.
And another thought: Who's up for a PA meet?

I live in VA and here if your vehicle is failed somewhere it has to be brought back to them to be checked and passed. You can take it somewhere else to have the work done, but the original place that did the first inspection has to pass it. Good luck getting your truck fixed man, don't let them jerk you around.
