connector--connector--resistor--connector--connector.... pretty simple. R-Shack has it all

I'm interested in this also. Would someone list the parts needed and how to put this together and what to do with it, Would be great. My son works at Radio Shack...just need a shopping list.

I'm going to have to go advanced for this

IAT
l l
l wire connector (female)
l wire connector to connect to ^ (male)
l l
l 5.5 KOhm resistor
l l
l wire connector (female)
l wire connector to connect to ^ (male)
l l

Of course you could just solder the resistor in.
The connectors are just so you can pull it in and out if/when you want. And if you put the connectors the way I said, you'll be able to pull out the resistor and put it straight through no problem.

it doesn't matter which wire on the IAT sensor you put this on.

I apologize for being so stupid but do you hook all this up with 2 strand wire or do you just put the parts you listed together and put them in the wire to the IAT?

You can use any 2 strand wire of the same size as the IAT or larger. Don't use speaker wire. I believe the wires are only 18awg. You can cut the factory wires about 6" behind the IAT sensor and solder them and tape them up, but i would reccomend buying the connectors so it's a plug'n'play and no cutting of wires.
If you were to unplug the IAT, the plug you have in your hand is what you would want to get a female end of the same so it can plug in. I drew a quick sketch for ya. It's a general drawing, so IAT wire may not be where I drew it.

You can do either way for adding in the resistors. A cut/splice method or the use of factory style plugs. You don't need both

in the method you show with splicing into the currently installed wires, why would you need two resistors? the wire just makes a loop, one resistor should do it.

only one resistor is needed. I took very nice pictures of what was needed in earlier posts. 4.7K ohm resistor is all that is needed. if you want to cut and splice.

The factory setup is one circuit (a loop). Cut either wire in the pair, splice the resistor inline, and you're finished.
