Saw a news report here locally that GPS/Nav systems are the #1 thing NOT to leave exposed in your vehicle. I saw this report about the 3rd week of January and they stated since Christmas, 106 car break-ins were reported where a GPS was stolen, 22 alone just at one mall parking lot. That's just the Orlando, Fl. PD!
I know it's a PIA, but you really need to disconnect that GPS and at least stow it, if not carry it into the house at night.
We have waves here where the neighborhood cars get hit. You'll hear about 10-12 getting hit over a 3 or 4 day period, then nothing for a month or so. I bought my mother a GPS/Nav for Christmas and get on her a$$ about unplugging it and putting in the case when she gets out and it comes into the house EVERY night. I just hope when she's recovered from surgery and I go back home to Ga., she don't get lazy. She had her minivan broke into while I was up at the farm for deer season, but I think she left it unlocked, no signs of force. They did rifle through the compartments, but only got about $8 in her "toll" quarters...
