Default rough country

Well after the break in on the truck I decided to spoil myself a little.
Im thinking im going to be ordering the rough country 2.5 leveling kit.
at $99 bucks and same day shipping I can't resist, I tried to look around the FAQ for some reviews did'nt find much so im interested in your opinions.
heres the linky

Local shop quoted me at $100 to install.
I have also heard Yes I do need shocks since I have a 06 and then some have said no you dont?? please clear this one up for me!
Thanks for all the help! I really trust the info you guys provide
looking forward to hearing your input

you don't NEED new shocks, but you'll bottom out your old ones probably even on speed bumps. Definitely won't be worth a damn off-roading. An you know that you'll need an alignment, right, did they include that because it should be a part of any level kit install...

I wont be "offroading" expect maybe a couple times a year...and nothing really crazy
what do u suggest i go with hammer? Im looking for something very fairly priced, in the $50 (per shock) range. Will I need to get a oversized shock or will just a aftermarket model for my truck work?
The price did'nt include an alignment. Im considering doing the leveling kit myself and saving the cash. Is it hard to install?

I have the 4" kit. its really nice. I think it rides better than before. none of the parts were el cheapo either. if I didnt know any better, I would think I was dealing with a high end kit.

i used the 2.5in top gun customz leveling kit...think they are like $80 on ebay shipped right from Top Gun Customz. I needed an alignment after I installed my kit. I didn't get new shocks because my truck on had like 8,000 miles on it, but I can definetely use a set with the kit like Hammer said.

if your only leveling, you might as well just crank your t-bars for free and save yourself some bucks.

if his truck is 06 and newer I don't think he has torsion bars to crank
