What are you experiences with other trucks?
I have owned or driven (work trucks) the gambit 02 f-150 super crew I had was a great truck nice ride pleanty of tourque never any issues with it I bought it slightly used would buy one again np.
Had a 03 crown victoria lx sport very nice car loaded never a problem great smooth ride that got stolen grrr. Had two GM cars both not great but the 2500hd gmc was a great truck couple small issues strong overall though.
F-250 with a v-10 and one with v-8 5.4 both so so, both elec. problems time to time minor had the head issue with spark plug on the 5.4 expensive problem and recall should have been made with that issue. My dodge (2006 1500 4x4 QC big horn) now eghh love the hemi and feel of the truck, looks but def. some soft spots it's been to the dealer more than I feel it should at 50k bought it new have been rougher than normal on this one I admit lol really like the new model rams and fords

i didnt put my cars.
The only truck I've owned is my 1996 dakota. I love the thing to death. I bought it last year and I have it up to about 198,xxx on the ticker. I haven't had any problems with it since I've owned it save for the idler motor. No big deal though. I expected something to go on it soon. O almost forgot my little radiator leak. changed it and that's about it. Never left me stranded, and always runs when I need it to. As long as it lasts me until may, I'm trading in/trading up to a 1500 QC. wish me luck!
Since 1990 I've owned a 1990 Ford Ranger 2x4 , a 1998 Ford Ranger Ext. Cab 4x4, a 2001 F-150 Ext. Cab 4x4, a 2002 Dodge Dakota Ext. Cab 4x4, a 2006 Jeep Wrangler X 4x4 and a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 QC 4x4.
I put 189,000 miles on the first Ranger and put less than $1000.00 in it over the life of the vehicle, not counting fuel. I should have never gotten rid of it. The 4x4 Ranger was a nice truck, but I used to drive 140 miles a day so when it got close to 100K on the odo the wife said "you should get a new truck", so I got the F-150. I loved that truck and it saved my *** when I rolled it at 60 mph and walked out basically without a scratch. Since it was only 18 months old I didn't have the $$$ for another full-size truck so I got a good deal on a Dakota. It was ok, but not really what I wanted. Again I put a lot of miles on it and somehow got suckered by my wife and daughters into getting a Wrangler. Fun to drive? Yes! Great in the spring/summer with the top down? Yes! Great as a hunting truck? For getting in and out of nasty terrain, yes. For hauling gear and dead deer, no. I tired of it quickly and I told my wife "a man needs a truck, I don't have one and I'm getting one." So I started looking at slightly-used ones to save some money and I found the '05 Ram 1500 with less than 19K on the odo for $20K. I've owned it since June of '07 and I have to say I'm probably as happy with this truck as I was with any other. I've certainly modded it more than anything I've owned since my '71 Monte Carlo. I would definitely buy another Ram, especially since I'm not overly fond of Ford's newer F-series body style. I have to say one of the main reasons I bought the Ram is because I thought it looked better than any full-size truck on the market. Looks ain't everything, but it is something.
But right now I'm busy tinkering with a 2004 VW Passat GLS I just helped my daughter buy for her first car. She turns 16 tomorrow and saved up quite a bit of cash from working since she was 14-1/2 and she wanted a Passat or a Jetta. I've never owned a German car before and holy crap! there is a lot to learn. Very, very finicky about oil, plugs, trans fluid, etc. Not a car for the unmechanically-inclined. But with a 1.8L turbo its a blast to drive with that 5-speed Tiptronic tranny. If I had a son, he would not be getting this car as his first one.

forgot to add that my parents had a ford bronco (not sure which year) so many friggen problems with that thing, rear end blew up, transfer case, oil pump, tail gate electric window never worked for a consistent week, tranny got rebuilt. but then again it got the **** beaten out of it lol. under powered with (i think) there 5L.
At work we have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500. The thing sits lower than my 1500. The truck only has 18000 miles on it here are the following problems:
fuel gauge burnt out
tachometer sticks
speedo sensor **** the bed
transder case yoke blew up
power steering pump has gone twice!
heater fan went
passenger door will not stayed closed
can barely hold up a plow
cracked a leaf spring
mind you this truck is not babied and the only hard work it ever does is plow. we dont even put much of a load in it. Chevy is a total POS!
now our for 07 350 diesel...all i can say is wow...im not sure dodge can touch ford 250 and 350's. Im serious

Lets see, where to start.... First off I think all the brands are for certain people... Some better than others.
Chevy(company work truck) - I like the power they have with there 2500 HD 6.0L.. Unbelieveable torque... Great road ride.. Comfy interior.. Luved the wheel well space... looks like they want you to put big ol' mudders on it. The New diesel w/ allison 6spd tranny is a beast. Towed a 30'bobcat trailer w/ vermeer lm42 plow in it with a load of topsoil and it showed no signs of drag. Geared perfectly plus fuel mileage was great.
I dislike how low you sit in the truck. Makes me feel like a little kid. Suspension is a bit to soft for some heavy load situations, causes alot of sway/FLOATY. Wish they didnt go with some much plastic on the truck, alot of my friends have bumped into snowbanks and cracked there bumps.. maybe just a flook. Interior was pretty blah for me.. Price is way outta range for me for the miles I want on it.
Ford - I owned a 2001 F250 v-10 CREW and 86 ranger STX with 33" BFG's. I liked the size of my 250. Made me wanna push folks of the road. Comy interior for those years, tons of room in my 250, great being able to sit up high in the truck and see all around it.. Suspension was great for carrying heavy loads and for off-roading Handled good.
I didnt like the gas mileage, 10MPG anywhere any time. the motor wasnt all i thought it would be. I think Dodges V-10 was alot stronger. The Suspension was to stiff for everyday driving around town, eh work truck.
DODGE - So far I have driven 12k on it in less than 9 months and all is well... Long distances is great, comfy, good gas mileage for a hemi 18mpg on highway and 14-15 around town. You sit in it like my F250, can see all around the truck. Nice power for some heavey loads. Mainly drywall and mulch. Havent towed nuttin with it yet but this summer Ill be pulling a 20' baja... Looks are the best so far... Can't wait to put new gears and Diff this summer.. If I got $ left might be slappin on some bigger meats and buying a tuner. After all these years I was a ANTI dodge guy... but after driving one, I guess I can squash all the doubts I had before.
Trucks are trucks made to drive. Some are great others no so great. Just depends if yours was made on a Monday or a Friday..lol--> had to throw that 1 in... I hear it all the time. Do your research and make sure you know what your buying. Not all trucks are perfect.

I had a 99 f 150 before my ram and that thing was a tank. I beat the living daylights out of it, mudding, offroading, jumping it, the works and it never missed a beat. sold it with 180,000 miles and it still ran amazing. great truck. I also test drove 3 new (04-05) F-150's when I got the ram and every one of them had either a motor or a tranny problem... hence me owning the ram.... I think it was an omen. : )
ive always been a ford guy. thats what my dad used, and thats what i like. we have an old '68 ford bronco 4x4 with the 289 and 3 on the tree. that thing was a beast! its sitting in the backyard now, all covered up rotting away, waiting for me or my dad to get the time and money to start rebuilding it.
dad always used ford f150s as work trucks, and i worked with him all the time. they were always great truck, never really encountered and crazy problems. just those you would expect from a truck with over 100k.
started out with my first truck a 97 ford ranger 2.3l 4cyl 4x2, for such a small truck it was still pretty nice. never really had many major problems with it except for the ecu dying. so it with 170k on it, and it was still running great.
next came the 99 Durango, 4x4 5.9l. it was decent, but had tranny problems ever since my inlaws bought it brand new. thing went through 2 rebuilds and still didnt work right. thats when they gave it to me.
now i have the 04 Ram 2500 hemi 2wd. love it. havent put many miles on it yet, but hasnt had a single problem, and dont forsee any coming down the road. thing feels rock solid.

Mom 2001 Gmc yukon 5.3 with 173,500 no problem watsoever maybe just a battery.
