It's just not right.
I have been reading about gas mileage on here and it seems like every one is getting good mpg. I want to not hear about "the whole its a truck what did you expect" This is question of why I don't get what everyone else is getting with this engine. I drive quick but not that quick and I have never gotten about 13.2mpg and that was an all highway trip. This HEMI should be getting something like 15mpg on the highway from what I can tell about your posts. The city should be at least 13 and I can't get it. Today after like 100mi I am currently getting 9.7mpg and my last overall tank came out to 11.2mpg and that was with the overhead and doing the math from the miles. Every now and then I will check the math and it will come out to worst mpgs!!!
So do I have a problem with fuel injectors, fuel line/pump or throttle body. Were should I look to get the mpg that I should be getting and I just had all maintence schedules done less then 2k miles ago so that has all been taken care of like tranny fluid/filters, both diffs, new oil/air filter/sparkplugs and the exhaust manifold had a broken bolt and now is fixed so please help me out here.

my truck gets about 1mpg more after i installed my hypertech programmer. If you don't have one, you might want to look into the Superchips programmer...it seems to be the most popular one out there and will at least get you a few more mpg's.
You should be doing better, I've got 4" of lift with a heavy a$$ sub-frame no less, winch and a bunch of other heavy mods. I've got the same 35" FCIIs that you do. My tool box is loaded with about 300# of tools, recovery and welding equipment all the time. I'll get about 11.5 around town and my last trip to the Ga. farm I got 15.7 on the overhead (which every time I've checked it is about 2 or 3 tenths of a mile per gallon better than hand calculating) WITH A 680LB. ATV IN THE BED!
It could be just a maintenance issue, bad EGR or PCV valve could do it. Poorly run aftermarket exhaust. You just need to look at everything one step at a time, but yes, you are correct, you should be doing better than you are...

oh man dont get me started about mileage lol
Now I'll be honest I was big hypocrit when I got my truck because when I was looking for a truck I looked at ford, chevy/gmc, and obviously dodge. While doing so I always said dodge looks the best, but gets the worst mileage of the 3...but then I got my truck for $7400 and it had about $2000+ in apperance mods so techinally I saved a ton of cash....ANYWAYS :-p
Right now winter in new england is KICKING MY @$$ FOR MILEAGE!!! Over the summer I was getting an average of 11.3 mpg CITY, which is almost the only driving I do. Right now because of the fuel additives and w/e they use in the winter I'm getting an AMAZING 7.9-9.1 mpg city, FML hahah thank god gas is back down around 1.80-ish
I have a fitch fuel catalyst installed also which is supposed to help with fuel economy but apparently it ain't helping me a whole lot right now..Just still glad it takes between $20-$25 to fill from half a tank anyways.
I also have about 250 lbs of sand in the bed for a bit more traction so I know damn well that isn't helping.
It's kinda sad when a 4.7 ram is getting 8 mpg and a friggin SRT-10 Ram gets the same thing and has a HUGE engine and an assload more power haha.
basicaly I would kill for 11mpg+ city right now lol, oh and when I use 4WD in the winter with my 8 mpg....yay 7mpg!!!
just wait'll summer and you'll be a bit better...unless you dont have snow and everything around there then idk. Cold air intakes and exhaust are supposed to help a bit but it's not gonna be like "holy **** I went from 11 to 19 mpg" (god I wish...)
Love the truck, hate the fuel economy, but I live with it :-)

oh and what octane are you guys using? I use regular, I put premium in one day because it was wicked cheap and I LOST 2 mpg so I was pissed
