Honest truth on Airaid MIT
Alright I'm considering buying the tube. I have a K&N drop in and hear that the stock box isn't very restrictive.
I've had stage 2 air intakes before. Were they worth 300+? I don't think so, but would I pay say 120 for the gains or very similar gains I got from them? For sure.
So would I get the value out of this tube?
Thanks

I'm not really set on anything, but I would rather keep the stock box if its not bad. I've just read that alot of people say the tube is the way to go for bang for buck and didn't want to make a purchase to find out people don't agree with that statement anymore (like i nearly found out with the diablo sport )
if it makes a pretty good difference then i'll pick one up. I've been looking for a while for a kit on ebay thats decent but havent found much yet.

I have had the Airaid MIT on for about 6 months or so. To be honest, I havent really calculated much as far as its effectiveness. It has seemed like a great product to me; I was just happy to get the Hemi Hat restrictor off there.
The install was a piece of cake and it looks really good in the engine compartment too.
After I put on the MIT I also added in an Amsoil Synthetic air filter, made to fit the stock box. It has a 100K mile warranty, and only needs to be cleaned with an air compressor once a year, with no oiling whatsoever.
I like the setup and for $120 total I am glad I did it.

Stellar_D, just make one out of 4" abs or pvc pipe. It will cost you under $30 for the samething but with a bigger pipe to suck more air in. If you want send me a pm with your email address and I will send you a pic of one, since I cant post pics up here.
