Question 08 hemi owners

Have any of you put headers on your truck, if so where did you get them? I have been looking for long tubes but have came up with nadda. I would really like to get a set of long tubes but right now it appears I have to go with shortys until someone makes a set for the 08's. Anything direction you can point me is appreciated.

Shorty headers you won't see much of a HP gain, What gain you see will be on the lower end. Longtube headers will have a significant gain over shorties, But you may actually lose a hair off the lower end as most the gain will be mid to upper end. I would go LT, btw if you have emissions, you may have an issue LT headers.

With that said, I don't know whats changed in the 08 hemis, I have seen LT headers that say they will work with 03 hemi's all the way up, And I have seen some that say only 03 - 06. So really what you should be asking is what has changed from the 03 - 06 to the 08 trucks that would stop you from using them.

I guess I will have to do some inquiring to manufacturers and dealers to see what the difference is and if 06 or 07 hemi headers will fit.

As far as emissions I am stationed in CA, BUT my car is registered in WA, which to my knowledge doesnt have emission inspections. Not a 100% on that I spent the last 4 years in Japan, guess I will have to check on that as well. I just dont want to be kicking my self in the @ss when long tubes come out. thanks for the input I will do some more homework. I was hoping someone had already done this.

They won't know about emissions in your state, But I would bet they can help with your other questions. As far as the legailty goes, Just call the inspection station where your car will be inspected next and ask them if they do emissions.

Long tubes are emissions illegal for on road use in every state...some states don't have a visual test though so they'll never know.

08 has a different Cat converter supplier and the exhaust system is different because it doesn't have the front resonator like most 07-back do. The cat-backs are also different for the 08 vs 06/07. Still waiting for Magnaflow to come up with the revised kit for my 08.
