Cool! I'm still debating over whether to take off the bed rails. At first I didn't like them at all, but was too lazy to take them off. Now I kinda like 'em, but still not sure I'm going to leave them on.

Not sure what you are saying is normal, but a 10-12 second delay on the tranny is not normal. Not shifting gears properly, skipping low, not shifting into high - those are not normal. The defective solenoid pack proved that out.

All 3 dealerships i ever worked at provided a free carwash with any maintenance being done. I always go over my vehicle when being picked up. I would have craswled underneath and checked out the tranny pan and make sure everything was in order before i signed anything and left. besides the obvious mud up the sides of the truck, I would have demanded a cleaning based upon that. Pretty rude of the mechanic to dsrive through mud anyways. There's plenty of road out there these days. No need to run it through the paces either. Especially offroad. These trucks aren't sold for offroad use, They are sold as daily drivers on ashpalt. Shame on the mechanic for being so ignorant. Shows how sloppy his car must be and his home as well.

I always cover my driver seat and tell the service manager I'm a PIA when it comes to my vehicles and there's not even 1 scratch in the paint. They usually mark on the paper that the customer is difficult and they generall yhave a little more effort forth and keep things tidy. i would take it some where's else. The jokers that clean cars at dealerships are a joke. My truck was filthy when i drove it off the lot, but i own a detail shop and am pretty particular.

[QUOTE=RamMark;1594082]Well, I don't think God would go for that in a very big way... plus, my church where I'm an associate pastor might frown on that...

whoops......sorry about that

No worries, dedogg...

dirtydog, the main reason I'm taking it back to them is that I have a feeling the grease is not going to come out of the carpet. If that is the case, I want it to be them that has to deal with it. I'll have plenty to say in the morning when I drop the truck off...

This is not normal. I had the same problem with my Ram as you with the same setup. At 2400 miles the dealership replaced my tranny with a new crate tranny. There was a residue that was coating all the sensors. They also flushed the system as well.

agreed, you need to let them deal with it on their dollar. especially make sure that grease gets outta the carpet. i think 16 miles is alot, maybe they went to pick up lunch with your truck! hey at least the trans is fixed. dealerships are a bitch to deal with nowadays, especially chrysler since they are tanking right now. i had quite and episode with my dealer last month and didnt back down till my problem was fixed. sharp lookin truck you have though

Dropped it off this morning and the service manager was genuinely apologetic. He couldn't explain the mud and miles, but said he would investigate. He also assured me they would get the truck back to looking new. I called just a bit ago to check on it and was told they had sent it out to a professional detail shop. I'll be going over with the proverbial fine-tooth comb this afternoon, but am expecting it to be back in shape. If not, we'll go from there.

thats nice that you seem to have a honest dealership, consider yourself lucky, especially seeing how chrysler is trying to push off all claims as much as possible.

Well, at least there's the lifetime powertrain warranty. However, having problems this early in must not be a good feeling at all.

I am sorry to hear they trashed your truck. I am lucky - my dad's dealership has always taken great care of me. Even the complimentary wash is done really well!

I sometimes forget to let the truck settle at idle in the morning before I put it in D and go - and as others mentioned, it thumps into D when doing that. Not a good sound.

BTW - I like the bed rails. They work very well with the chrome-clads and nerf bars.
