Question 5.9 Magnum Chip/Programmer?

So, I was sitting in my engineering class at school today. When I found this. Does anyone know if this really works, or if those performance numbers are even correct. I think its a great price for that much power. Does anyone know how to install it, or have it in their truck? If so is there anything I should know before I buy it or not? Do you think I should buy it?

NO! Step away from that thing. Get yourself a good programmer for your truck. I hear that the SC 3815 pulls a lot of power out of the 5.9 engine, A LOT.

+ one million!

First off in that ebay article, the Ram 1500 pictured there isn't even a 5.9L Ram. It's one of the new 2009 Rams.

Second: The only tuner I have heard of to give that kind of power is an SC.
Also, there is probably no tuner on the planet that will give you an increase by 5 mpg. If there was it would be at least $500.

Third: I've seen these things before on ebay. Someone actually purchased one and broke it open to see what was inside. The only thing that was inside was a resistor. All the resistor does is trick the computer into dumping more gas into the engine thus creating a little more power maybe.
This is the same thing as a powerwire.. Correct?

I would not touch it. It might do crazy **** to your engine that could cost hundreds if not thousands in repairs.

*** If you see something with that much gains in hp and mpgs for that low of a price.. It IS too good to be true and it is most definately a scam. Chrysler, GM, and Ford invest millions into making engines more powerful and more fuel efficient at the same time. If a $25 box will give that kind of increases then every vehicle you see would have one installed. ***

You got a nice truck for being 16. My first truck was a 2001 F-150 Reg Cab long bed 4.2L V6. I was 17 years old. I liked the truck but I joined the Marines and my brother didn't like driving it because it was so freakin long.

Yeah I know. I'm thankful I got it. Beats having my mom's 93 Honda Civic Coupe. I love how I'm filipino, but I hate little riceburners. I've always wanted a Ram. I like your truck a lot too. How's that Airaid CAI you got? I've heard a lot about them.

I bought the truck and it was already installed so I haven't had a chance to drive it without. However from what I hear it makes the engine sound alittle better and the truck is pretty quick so I'm sure it's working great.
