Question about this CAI system...

Default Question about this CAI system...

Has anyone seen this CAI before? I was thinkin about puttin it on my 4.7 but I dont know If I need a hood scoop for it to truelly efficient...

Is sucking hot air bad for the truck? ie performance, fuel milage, and all that jazz

Looks like it will suck hot air, it ain't a CAI.

You should probably get a ram air hood if you are gonna get that. I'm pretty sure you will get better throttle response with that intake vs. stock, but whenever the truck is moving slow it will pull in hot air w/ stock hood. Once you get up to a decent speed there should be enough flow under the hood that it won't matter as much.

Thatas what I was thinking... idont have 4 large to drop on a Ram air hood but I plan on getting on sooner or later...now is hot air bad for the engine?

Looks cool, but I would think without some kind of hood letting cool air in all it would do is suck in hot air.

So the general impression is dont get it without a Hood scoop?
