Problem...could be battery or a timing issue?
Okay I have only have my truck for about 7 months now, I bought it used, it run great. But, recently the engine has been reving itself when idleing and if I take my foot off the brake in traffic it has a tendency to jump forward. At first I over looked it when it was slightly jumping forward because I through it was just running cold, but now it is doing it more frequently and even after it's been on the road for a little while. Also, it stalled on me sitting at a red light in the middle of traffic with no warning, no check engine light, or anything, but it started right back up fine.
Also last night backing into a parking spot, out of no where it cut off again, everything in the trcuk remains turned on. The sterro and lights all remain on, but I lose steering (which happens and I know that lol) and it just shuts off. Again it starts right back up, no problem or hesitation, and no lights come on. The battery indicator inside the truck reads that it is fine right in the middle of low and high.
I just checked the battery and recharged it, and the battery reader said it was a little low, and the alternator was fine. But, I was told that the Dodges tend to have a problem like that where the battery is dying and it will read fine on the readers. I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to the problem. Could it just be that it needs a new battery or alternator? Or could it be something different like a timing issue?
By the way it's a 2003 Ram 1500 with a 4.7 V8.

I'm willing to bet it has NOTHING to do with your battery or charging system.
Sounds like you have either a vacuum leak or your IAC valve needs to be cleaned or replaced as well as a T/B cleaning. That should solve your problem

Well my boyfriend just picked me up a new battery and I will check that out and see what happens. He works at advance so I know all about the battery checks they do there, but thanks for the idea. And if the batery doesn't work then I will check the hoses and such like you all said. Thanks so mcuh. I will def. get back to yall on what happens with the good old truck.
