MDS can be shut off by a custom tune. Both SC and DP have the option.

'Dog. When I run down the freeway with my tow/haul ON, at 70 MPH, my truck runs at about 2200 RPM. The the tow/haul OFF, my truck will run at I THINK about 1700 RPM. Either way, It will do this for hours, just depends on how long I can keep my speed.

My highay mileage stayed the same with MDS disabled because the truck doesn't have that 55-60 mph surge with the cruise set.

I was asking if my truck never enters 5th gear regardless of tow/haul. With tow/haul on, I am at 1800rpms at 70mph. With tow off I'm at 1800rpms at 70mph?????? That's why I said tow mode doesn't turn off 5th gear.
Maybe there's something wrong with my truck because there certainly isn't a 500rpm difference between the two while I'm on a flat no winded highway.

Yeah, I have 3.92s but I'm also running 35s. I'm probably similar to stock tires on 3.55s.

its actually better to turn it on or turn off that mds because it will reduce wear on your transmission, you get more power, and better mpg. you transmission wont have to work so hard to get into that high gear

I knew you were running the 35's, thats why i was wondering if they were 3.92s or 3.55's.

You know, with the cam work youve done and some 4.56's, your truck would scoot pretty good. But im sure you knew that...
