may buy 02 or 03 crew cab
actually both would have the same room since you could mount them all in the bed. i figured you could probably fit like 20 subs there
i got mine when i was 16 and was easy to take care of gas wise except when gas was 4.25 a gallon but who didn't have to watch what they spent during the summer last year? as long as you take care of the truck, she'll take care of you. my overhead says i get 11.8mpg with the 4.7 but sometimes i can drive like a maniac so i really don't know my mpg unless i laid off the pedal. if you get a qc you can put subs in a lot easier by putting them under the back seats. i dont regret getting this truck at all i love driving this thing

i remember around christmas when it was almost $1.15, boy was i excited. oh well, good times
and subs do fit pretty nicely behind the seat. actually, reg cab truck boxes are cheaper than the under-the-seat box

thanks for all the replies guys. I'm definitely going to sell my suv in order to get the crew cab and parking/driving big vehicles is no problem for me ( since I have one right now :P)
I'm not sure if I should get the 4x4. I live in Indiana and we had a bad winter this year, but they aren't always too bad. How do 2 wheel drives handle in the winter? ( obviously they'd need some weight in the back)
are there any known problems with 02, since it is the first year of the 3rd gen?

i say just go ahead and buy one right now. dodge rams are great. people go over 100k without any issues. you maintain them like you would any other car. for gas mileage, id recommend the 4.7 because that gets the best but the hemi isnt really far behind in fuel economy. for car audio, there a lot things you can do to add subs, just be creative. where are you located and what are your price ranges?
my price range is going to be about $10k and I've found a lot of 02 and 03's around there.
I wouldn't want to do a blow through in my truck is the only problem
actually, i do see rams in good condition around those years go for $7-8k. in fact, you could get a nice fully loaded 03 hemi for 4x4 for around $9k. it might be different where you live
