What shall I do fellow members? Everything looks good, no broken parts, but shoudl I remove the clips or leave them in? I have 5kmi on my truck.

You needed a fourth option:

Pull POS Corporate LSD out and replace with an Auburn or TruTrac...

Well, that's down the road. I didn't add that option in because i knew everyone would choose that one...lol I don't have the time or $$$ right now to put in a Detroit. I was looking for a quick solution for the time being.

I voted to pull them because mine came out and I tell you now my oil looked like liquid silver, really.

That's what I'm trying to tell everyone on another thread here, on this forum Weedahoe.
Would you post up please exactly what you found in your diff, under the thread called "diff damage !!".
It would go a long way so to speak, that some other person other than myself, unfortunately had this happen.

I voted to IMO you should leave em in for warrenty sake. I mean as new as your truck is and the way you say you keep it serviced and no more miles than is on it, it would be a biot** if you took them out and something happened to the diff. Then your screwed.

This has nothing to do with the clips. Silver fluid just means the oil is overdue. Diff's are suppose to be a silvery brown when you first change the fluid because all the bearings and the gears need to break in. There's nop filter so the particles just get recirculated.
Again, silver has NOTHING to do with the clips....Abarmy.


Anyhow, there's a rubber plug on the diff cover. i pulled that off and sucked the fluid out. I poured a qt of oil in there and sucked even more out. Ofcourse this isn't 100% way of wiping out the belly, it will hold me off until I do it again at 15kmi. Was super easy to suck the fluid out with my extractor. There wasn't much fluid left because i used 2 full bottles plus the friction modifier. That tells me there was about .25qts left in there which is common because fluid sits in the axles housings. I stuck a flexible magent in there and not much at all came off on it.

I tend to agree with Abarmby, because ive just done mine and the broken clip had slipped out but not fallen out and was rubbing on the bearing clamp. It had made a 1mm, groove in the clamp and must have made a lot of metal filings. I think thats what he means.
If youve got the oil, why would you suck some out and then refill it. Its nothing to take the back plate off and clean it out properly. !!! ????
I also agree with you Dirtydog about the lack of a filter and the recycling of dirty oil.
My truck has only done 21k and they are f---ed.
