Well, a y-pipe is your only option if it isn't a true dual.

I'd like to start ordering the exhaust components tomorrow, but just need a couple of things answered.

For starters, I'm going to order the 3" inlet/ 2.5" dual outlet Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flow & 4"x18" exhaust tips.

In regards to the y-pipe, you guys say go with magnaflow's. Can anybody direct me to a link so I make sure it's the right one? Also, does it replace the whole y-pipe, or just the part where the two pipes come together??

Lastly, I'm pretty sure I'd like to replace those catalytic converters, just a piece of mind kind of thing. I'd prefer to go with magnaflow universal cats, but I'm not sure what size to get.

Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's just the Y where the pipes come together. Eliminates the crimped section. I wouldn't waste my money on the 40 series, It will rot away in a few years. Been there done that, Magnaflow stainless from now on. Do it once, do it right.

I wish flowmaster made a stainless teel case. I've tried magnaflow, and just was really dissapointed with the straight through design. I love the sound of a chambered muffler, it's irreplacable. So, I don't know, I don't like the idea of it rotting out prematurely, but I really love the sound of flowmaster..

Maybe the black coated MAC chambered mufflers would be the ticket!!

So, are you guys saying it'd be pointless to replace the two factory catalytic converters with magnaflow catalytic converters? I can't do headers because it will void my warranty, so maybe it'd be silly. I measured the factory cats, and they are 11" long.

So far, I'm going to order the magnaflow y-pipe transition, and a 3" inlet/2.5" dual out muffler. I'm still just not sure what I'm going to do for the catalytic converters. Also, what is the size of the stock y-pipe, is that 2.25" or 2.50"?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I just want to make sure I maximize my performance and money, I only want to do this system once. On my last truck, I literally went back in there 5-6 times changing different configurations, and was a pain in the *** lol.

I'm about to buy the magnaflow y-pipe on autoanything.com. What size should I have the inlets/outlet be?

Today, I ordered the exhaust components I will need to have the exhaust system installed when I'm ready to do it. I ordered a magnaflow y-pipe with a 2.5" dual inlet/3" single outlet, a Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flow with a 3" inlet/2.5" dual outlet, and two 4"x18" stainless steel angle cut exhaust tips. I don't plan to rush it getting installed, but I just wanted to get the ordering out of the way so I can stop thinking about it lol. She should sound mean, and hopefully free up a little more horsepower compared to that bottleneck stock configuration.
