Its always nice to hear about a ford going down.... but.... I gotta ask since no one else picked up on it yet, you were doing 110+ when you beat the ford with no other modifications to your truck? If that is true I think you are either over exadgerating a little or the truck had a tune installed before you bought it since the speed limiter would have kicked in between 95 and 105.

LOL, after all the tranny problems that truck has had and the months it took to get it fixed, the last thing you should be doing is chaining it up to anything

The truck is very powerful, I don't see it having any power issues. Like I said, I beat my friends Ford who I never had a chance against before the hemi. I'm leaning towards what Ried said, the slow down shift. It felt like when I floored it, it just took forever for it to acknowledge that I was punching it, by that time it was too late. I know this truck moves though, because it had that F-150 a truck length the entire way up past 100mph.

i heard that having the throttle 85-90% is better than having it floored to the ground.

Probably so. I've done some reviews online of these trucks, and I guess a lot of people have mentioned that the truck does have a poor downshift. I'm not at all concerned about the power of my truck, I'm already tickled silly that I toasted my friends f-150 stock, but figured I'd just share a funny story.
