yea i work for em, and wont buy anything other than food from walmart after seeing the way stuff gets unloaded.
eBay has the lowest price that I have seen, 39.99 with free shipping. The wiring it comes with is fine if you run them the way they come but if you upgrade to brighter bulbs you will want to increase the gauge wire you use too.

Very simple to wire, just make sure you use a relay and don't wire them directly to the battery. That is not safe.
I'm not sure how i feel about that. i've wired stuff to the battery before with no problems. but it isn't the smartest idea. the lights do have a fused switch, so what's so bad?
I had a fused switch melt on me once? Does that answer your Q? With a relay the contacts you would use are N.O. so there is no power going through it which protects you. A switch is rated at what, 15 amps? A relay is 30/40 amps.
