Default just happen

OK for some reason my truck overheats when it just sits in a parking lot but not when im driving it. It just started to do this when i put the new intake on. Anyone have a clue?

Iv never done one to this since iv got it. if it's runing down the street or what not it's fine. this is the second time iv been sittin somewhere on my laptop and all of a sudden check gauges comes on and im overheating. I just turned it off and it's all most down to the normal temp spot.

def time for a coolant flush. i think you'll find your coolant is probably very very dark, with some rust in there possibly

Sounds like an airflow problem to me... you overheat when you're sitting because you don't have adequate air moving through the rad to cool things. When you're moving you have all the airflow you need.

sounds like the fan's not doing it's job. Or doing anything for that matter.

So is my engine really overheating or does it just think it is.. As soon as i start to drive or rev my engine the temp goes right back to normal.

Sounds like the fans gone... If the fluid was bad it would be over heating at all times not just when sitting still...

I was going to say you need a flush. It could be so gunked that when your driving it is barely getting cool enough.

But check your fan. All these suggestions are good ones.
