Saturday I'm having my tail lights tinted by the bodyshop. What do you guys think them putting a very slight tinting to my headlights, and painting the grille inserts black???

If I was you, I would wait to paint the inserts until after you have some lights behind the grill. With nothing back there you kind of lose all depth when you look at the front of the truck. That is just my opinion but take it from a guy who has done it on a black truck, it looks better when you have something behind the grill to make the painted inserts stand out a little.

Well, what do you think of them just putting a slight tinting on the headlights and just leaving the chrome grille inserts alone? That way I'll have tinted tails and headlights.

i would paint the inside of the headlight first then see how you like that. then you can go from there on the tinting if you wanted them darker

I'm not sure what the difference is between tinting the outside of the headlight and opening it up and tinting it?

I personally wouldn't tint the outside of the lights unless you were also installing an hid kit in there. There really isn't anything good that can come from you losing light output from the headlights when the stock amount of light output without any tinting is barely enough as it is.

I just am unsure if the chrome adds a nice accent to the truck or not. I know a guy that powdercoats extremely cheap. He did many parts for my brother's truck for amazing prices. Had also thought of the idea of buying these headlights to make it all black:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...link:middle:us

Can a body shop use regular paint to paint over the chrome grille inserts? If so, I'm going to ask them to paint the inserts black since it's already there getting other work done.
