Default Gastank swap - who has done this?

So I did a search and came up with nothing and there doesn't seem to be anything in the faq about this.

I'm thinking of swapping in the 34 gallon tank in place of the 26 thats currently in my truck. Called the dealer about doing this to see what all would be involved. Tank obviously, then a different fuel pump, and then a different control module of some sort so that the overhead digital display would be accurate. Talk to two service people and both sounded like it would real hard to do and neither were sure it would all work together? How could this be? Its just a gas tank!? A gas tank that was optional when purchased new.

Sometimes what the service guys say and whats really necessary don't concur. Does anybody on here have any experience with doing this? Did you need the extra computer stuff? How has it worked out for you?

I figure I can install the tank and maybe the pump myself, the computer stuff not so sure of.

Is gastank(gas tank) one word or two?

There was some stuff about this over on Dodge Talk and it is one of my mods planned to do also. I have been looking for the tank and pump and tank straps as well. IDK about the overhead display matching up or not though. But you seem to know about as much as I do on this. And I havent really found anyone who has done a total swap either.

Please keep me posted on how this works. I'm going to call around tomorrow and start looking for gas tanks.

i looked into it. couldnt find the tank, im still looking though. the rest is easy find, its just finding a used tank close to you that seems to be the hard part. i havent found an answer on the o/h console coinciding with the larger tank though.
