New truck already broke after 12 hours...

My dealer gave me a PT Cruiser as a loaner. I was having a oil change and general maintenance done on my 2500HD Ram. I must admit, it was a bit emasculating going from a Heavey Duty truck to a PT Cruiser. The high point was, after a few hours with the PTC I was never so happy to be back in my HD RAM.

Update: Called the dealer at 5pm tonight. The gauges are defective so they are replacing the entire cluster. They hoped the part would be in tomorrow but they werent sure. Looks like I might have this caliber for a little while. Plus when I get the truck back it will go back in another week or so to get the rust proofing and undercoating installed as well.

It's a new truck why would it be cracked or scratched like that? I hope they took money off the top for that or replace it for free. If not I would say something to them about it most places would take care of it.

The dealer got the dash in today, but more bad news. There was an engine noise and they didnt hear it until today. IT was cold here this morning and thats when the noise happened to me. So they are going to rip the head off tomorrow and send it out and have the whole head redone, parts replaced, then slap it back on. So Im down for at least 4 more days they told me, but I will have half a new engine on it on the bright side. Glad I got that warranty...

No, don't go to the dealer for that service. It's a rip-off and they don't do a good job!!!
My father just payed to have his new '09 F-150 done and before I even looked under I told him it was a rip-off at $399 or something like that. I looked under and they only sprayed the rear fender wells and the outside of the frame where most guys would just bend over and do a quick look. I sold cars. Trust me I know what the deal with that is.
You need to go to a place that specifically does rust proofing and sound proofing. 2 different things by the way! Sound proofing is globbs and globbs of thick undercoating all over everything. I would never recommend this. Most garages won't work on vehicles like that because all th bolts and lines are covered with the crap, plus it catches everything in sight and causes more problems than not. Just get rust proofing done.
A place like Ziebart or any spray in bedliner place will perform the service for around $300 and do a thorough complete job. Much better than any dealership will entertain. My father has to go back and have them re-do what they should have in the first place. I'm gonna wager that his truck won't be as complete as mine which i did myself even after his 2nd trip to get it done!
