Fluid temperature is fluid temperature, whether it is water, oil, or transmission fluid. As long as the sensor is matched to the gauge, you can run multiple sensors to the same gauge and use a switch to select the one you want.

My transmission gauge reads 100-280F, and normal temperature is 140 (city) to 190 (towing a grade). I think engine oil should be in the 200-250F range so the gauge should be fine for oil as well.

i think its a pretty good idea. i dont want to lose the handle for another gauge either, so dont blame you there. try it and let us know! sounds like maybe just a switch, relay and a few extra wires would do it.....

For the current involved, no relay needed. An SPDT (single-pole, double throw) slide switch would work fine for two sensors. You could even get a multi-position slide switch or a rotary switch and have a combination of trans temp send/return, oil send/return, coolant temp, etc. Go nuts.

I already did this...see this thread: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...e-install.html

I am monitoring 2 different transmission temps but it still applies. You would just need to decide where to place the engine oil sensor.
