...Exhaust Ideas
Last weekend, I did a fly-by for my brother with my truck so he could hear the new Flowmaster 50 HD exhaust. Once I returned back home, I was waiting to hear an enthusiastic response, but he never even really addressed the fly-by and continued to load stuff into the trailer. It kind of pissed me off, and when I addressed him, he couldn't help but show the smirk on his face. Since I am a twin, I know exactly when my brother is laughing at something. Eventually I got it out of him that he hates the look of my exhaust. He says when I drove by, it was abnormally hanging down, and all he could see was the piping. He also said he thinks the exits behind each rear tire looks messy. Obviously this pissed me off, and since then, I've been self conscious of the damn exhaust lol.
With the criticism of my brother aside, I do secretly agree with him unfortunately. For whatever reason, my exhaust guy slaughtered the exhaust on this particular truck. He tried much too hard making the exhaust tips perfectly level, and in doing so, ran the pipe way too low on the driver side. From the rear, you can see where the pipe drops immediately after the axle and goes straight to the corner of the bumper, very annoying. It just looks messy, and it's irritating me. I've never been a guy that likes the simplicity of going "out the back", but it is a lot cleaner looking. I wanted to get your guys' take on an idea I had though. I was thinking about maybe having a body shop cut some slight cutouts in the bumper where I could tuck away some of the exhaust tips into. Nothing intense as the '09 Rams, but have a little bit of tip inside of the bumper. I was thinking on getting a smaller diameter tip as well such as a 3.5"x18" (I have 4"x18" right now).
I apologize for the longevity of the thread, but just a lot of ideas, thanks!

I'm going to post both the passenger and driver side exits. On the passenger side, he did a good job going over the axle and then waiting till last minute to run the pipe back down. However, on the driver side, he immediately ran the pipe down after the axle and it runs level with the middle of the differential cap...I apologize for the picture quality, it's just a cellphone shot.

That's kind of an interesting idea actually. What would you suggest I could use to paint the tailpipes with that won't fade from the hot exhaust heat??
