Default Flowmaster

I have been dying to put an exhaust on my 07 dodge ram 1500 quad cab hemi. i have pretty much decided on the flowmaster 50 series HD. what i havent decided is if i am going to buy the kit or just the muffler and tips and have the rest of it done at a shop.

i was wondering if anyone had this kit on their truck and could post up a couple pics from the back.

Thanks for any help

I have had the 50HD on my truck since it was about a month old. After almost 5 years, it's still in good shape. The sound is nice, deep and throaty, loud but not overly so.
From a performance standpoint though, there are many better choices out there. The Flowmasters do sacrifice a good bit of flow to get that sound. Also, as an MDS Hemi owner, you'll have to put up with a good bit of drone in the cab.
Magnaflows, Gibsons and Dynaflows would offer a bit better performance. Personally, I'm switching to a Cherry Bomb Extreme shortly, I thought at 42, I was past the LOUD muffler phase, but I guess not...

haha, ok thanks for the info. im thinking about buyying the muffle and tips and having it built for me. then i can go with the 4" inlet and dual 3" out instead of 3" inlet and dual 2.5" out. what kind of difference will that make to the sound and performance?

That's also what I did. I think it makes for a better fit to have a custom shop bend everything the way it should be specifically for your truck.

I got the Flowmaster 50 HD installed in my 07 QC hemi last week and love it. Middle of the road noise wise and when I come home late from work I can just baby it into the driveway not to wake the neighbors. But when I stomp on the gas it sounds mean as hell. I have the kit found it on craigslist for $150. Great mod! Here's a vid I made.

16700 Magnaflow kit fits great. Installed mine is a little over an hour.
3.5" tips and all stainless muffler and pipes.

Default super 40 series

I have the flowmaster super 40 series, and it's amazing.
I think flowmaster suggests the 50hd for dodge hemi's with mod engines, but if you want the sound this is def the way to go.

It finally sounds like a real truck.
Loud, but not overwhelming.
I don't even notice it anymore and once you get going on the freeway you can barely hear it.
Not the best for sneaking around I've noticed though.

I got Marco Muffler's to do it for $349 (parts, labor, upgraded tips and tax).
They might still be having that sale (it's been a month now). It's way cheaper then the kit for 600 and they did a super clean install. Spent 4 hours welding it in.
The Marco near me also have the 50hd for cheaper than buying it yourself.

(3.5 in chrome slash cut tips).

I have had the 50 hd on my truck and wasn't really a fan. It sounded a little too tame for me. I currently have the super 40 on my truck and honestly, if I ever ran exhaust through my muffler I would probably change it out to the magnaflow like lxman1 is running. That is a nice sounding exhaust.
