The motion lights idea was just a joke. If a theif is gonna stick around while your "outside" alarm is going off. I'm sure they will deal with one blasting on the inside of the cab! There are alarms that have motion detection sensors to warn if anyone get's too close, but then it's easy for a cat or squirrel to set it off.

yea my alarm would go off if a bird landed in the bed. or the wind blew too hard. but it got broken into at a walmart parking lot. and noone did ****.

Ohh, better get that fixed or removed the glass. You will get a ticket driving down the road like that. it's a hazard because you cannot see properly and a hazard for you incase it did shatter. I'd almost bet they wouldn't let you drive away if they did pull you over????

that sucks man... the worst part about theives is if they really want something they will get it and you cant always depend on law enforcement. I had my 2007 Freightliner tri-axle stolen last febuary, right out of our yard which has cameras. We watched they guy (wearing a suit and tie) break in start the truck and leave. I called up the state police and gave them a exact time the truck left my yard and they refused to track it down the highway on their cameras. So now a year plus later and I have no idea were my truck went lol. So just think of it this way, your just lucky your theives werent as good as the guys that hit me.

Sorry to hear about that.
I have read on a Mercedes Forum that there are alarm systems that electrify the car or certain areas. (Useful if you have a hood ornament) I figure if the thief got a good few thousand volts through them they would think twice... Just a thought. But that would apply I would think more to the body of the vehicle and not the windows I guess.

I have read a few articles where people wired their cars up with electricity. If there was a kit to do this i'd 100% buy it

You shouldnt have to pay for that outta pocket. Your comprehensive insurance will cover it minus the deductible. Also, comprehensive claims wont increase your rates at all. Its there specifically for vandalism and nature-caused accidents (the wind blew my motorcycle over and the comp. covered it 100%).

Now that it is summer you will see a rise in car break in's because teenagers are out of school. i take numerous reports each week. Most of the time people will only go after unlocked cars but I have seen several with the exact same thing as you as it looks like someone used a screw driver to punch a hole.

I try to tell people to hid there GPS and satelite radio recievers
