MAGNAFLOW guys chime in please!!
I have a 14" magnaflow and love it. its not too loud at idle. and when you stop on it. people look. I have a single in dual out. I wanted to go with a 11" maggy but I couldnt find it in the size I needed. I would definatly go 14" if you want a nice rumble. and I get barely any cab drone on the highway
given the area i live in, yea. i know down south, and out in the country everyone loves loud exhaust. i personally think loud pipes are for performance, our trucks arent performance vehicles. i have loud exhausts on my '71 nova and my motorcycle (loud pipes save lives). but the only loud cars around here are the young kids in imports, and the mustangs making lots of noise but not going anywhere.
today was my first full day of driving it, and the d@mn thing just drones the entire time I'm not on the highway, its actually annoying. when you let .the gas, no noise at all. Outside of the truck it sounds great, dont get me wrong. but inside is just a loud drone
muffler is actually 14". and is placed right before the piping turns into 3" which is right before the rear wheel. stock piping is 2.5" all the way

Oval is what comes in the cat-back kits. The round ones are a bit louder.
I haven't measured mine. It came in the 16700 kit. It is also pretty quiet at an idle, but is noticeable under a load and really talks to ya wide open.

If you want louder and don't want drone I recommend Aero Turbine, aggressive when I step on it and when cruising and on long road trips it's near inaudible. And I think they sound better than anything else.

It's worth it IMO. They are also built well from full stainless and have a lifetime warranty.

Some chick's truck on youtube. My apologies to the OP, didn't realize yours was a 4.7, here's a AT muffler on a 4.7 Jeep.
