According to the Amsoil website, your engine takes 5.9 quarts of oil.

Any high quality oil filter will work fine. Personally I would suggest the Amsoil Ea filter for your Ram, which is part number EAO42.

You could also go with a K&N HP-2004. It's a good filter and comes with a nut welded on the canister to help you get it off.

Here are a couple of oil filter hints I learned here on the Cummins forum:

When you remove your old filter, first bust it loose with a filter wrench or whatever you use. Then take a zip lock bag (quart size should work on yours, gallon size is best on the Cummins filter) and slip it over the filter before you continue spinning it off. That way all the oil that comes out stays in the bag.

When you install a new oil filter, use a dab of bearing grease on the gasket instead of motor oil or WD-40. It makes the filter slightly easier to remove the next time you change oil.

All good. You might want to try a gallon-size plastic bottle (windshield washer or even an old 5 gal. oil jug) instead of the plastic bag. That has worked better for me.

six quarts.

Mobil, Wix or Purolator filters seem to be about the best out there.

As far as a gas treatment/additive, I've always used a good quality fuel injector cleaner in the tank every 3k miles or so, something along the lines of STP or the like, although many people swear by Seafoam. I've used it in small engines (lawn mower, weed whackers, etc.) with fantastic results. I should probably give it a try in the truck or jeep...

Marvel Mystery Oil Is a good fuel additive for cleaning the fuel system.

I've had good results with the Lucas fuel system treatment in the past.
