Never had any problems at all with mine. I have taken plenty of long trips in heavy traffic and it has cooled my truck like a champ. Mine is wired just to the low side, I tried it on high when I first got it but it pulled way more air than my truck needs and it sounded like a helicopter under there.

I have been debating on getting the Flex-lite extreme vs the cheaper taurus or like fan.

I would love some more info on this. Where to get the controller? how to wire it up? How does the taurus fan work for you while towing? Have you used it on any really hot days?

I was considering doing this and cutting the srhoud down as far as I can possibly fabbing some alternate bottles to even pull the shroud altogether.

well its really simple to wire it up with the controller i used anyways. like most things there is power, ground, and then your ignition wire, the controller i got is able to use two fans and its adjustable for when you want it to kick in. then the thremostat to tell it to kick in sticks threw your rad and gets clipped in and there is also a wire for the a/c so it comes on when running it but i just put a toggle switch under my dash so i can turn it on manually cause truck already has a/c fan i could take pictures of how i ran my wires and how i mounted everything if you need. not sure the best brand of controller is mine was cheap but its working fine so far.

After a bit of research, These taurus fans are cool (Pun intended). They are 4500cfm fans, the $300 dollar flexlite 180 is only a 3300cfm fan. The taurus fans are a common fan to use for E-fan mod across the board, from mustangs, sports trucks, regular trucks, off roading vehicles, and everything in between.

We need someone to do a write up for our ram trucks. I am gonna do this mod. If someone else doesn't do a write up before me, Ill try to get step by step pics and do one myself. However, It might take me a while to get around to it.

Here is a link to the controller that I am running: http://moesperformance.com/index.php...oducts_id=1658

Wiring it is fairly easy, just follow the instructions that come along with and you shouldn't have a problem. There are only a few wires; switched power source, 12v constant source, ground, temp probe, air conditioning switch, etc. I chose this controller bc it gives adjustability of the temp when the fan switches on, starts the fan at only a percentage of its full power to limit the drain on the electrical system and has a run time after you shut the truck off.

Here is the DIY write up that I did when I installed my fan. Unfortunately, I didn't take more pics while I did the install but I didn't have my camera handy while I did the install.
