That's huge though. In a RC 2WD, you would have to get like 70 RWHP to gain a second in the quarter.

We really need some good mods for the Hemi before we can compete with the Blightening. Until we get something worthwhile, we can sit here and fool ourselves all day long.

 

Keep dreaming. $600 for an intake and TB spacers? Not only are you delusional but you're also putting money in the wrong spot. The intake mods might help a bit, but I seriously doubt you'll get anywhere near the 80 lb-ft you'll need. The computer controls everything... I'd fiddle with it first. My VW I went from 180hp/170 lb-ft to 209hp/240lb-ft just by switching some 0s and 1s in the ECU. Nothing physically changed at all. Of course you won't see gains like that because my ECU controls boost as well, but it's a good place to start.

That's the root of all evil with the Hemi. It seems nobody can get a modified version of the PCM. Sure Superchips and Hypertech have programmers that help some, but a true HiPo PCM is what is needed.

 

A friend owns and 03 Lightening and he consistantly runs high 12s stock. Given a choice, I would still take my truck over his, but you have to give credit where credit is due. Short of a supercharger or turbo, you will not touch him with a hemi. Maybe with a 150 shot of nitro.

 

Unless his is the supercharged version, you should be able to beat him stock. Not all the Harley Editions were supercharged. Even so, the Harley F-150 can't compete with the Lightening either.

there's no way a bone stock f/lightning will run high 12's, if you guys no sure about what a car run go to this site www.mpt.org/motorweek/, then go to test-search and pick your vehicle-I race my 10sec GTO a lot and it's all about bragging- a stock '99 lightinh runs14.3s and a '02 13.9s in order to runs 12s you'll need over 100 more horses- so when ever so body is talking so, all I said lets go and race- my friend has a '02 lightning and I'll beat him every time in my '03 hemi quad ram thats bone stock- how??? simply I will get him really mad, then I said fine let's go,then he sits burning the tires and I be gone and he can never catch up to me!! at the track he might win but in the street is a hole different story!!!- if in a light a lighthing goes to race u don't slam on the gas just take it easy out of the hole and u'll be fine!!!!!!

 

Fastest stock Lightning I have heard of was an 02' and it ran a 13.2 stock. Not gonna happen with most of them though. I know where I have run in the 1/8th mile they post 8.8's-8.9's, kinda quick, but not very fast. My best stock 1/8th in the GMC Typhoon is an 8.5, much quicker now.

 

Here's a video of a 12.5 lightning run. The mods on this truck are power pulley, PSP chip and exhaust (not nearly 100 hp worth). The SRT 10 he beat consistantly runs mid 13s.
