Default My engine noise video..

Many of you have heard me bit&* about my truck having problems. Well its going to the shop monday to see what needs to be done this time. Last time they rebuilt the heads because of the noise. Now it happened again 2 weeks later. What do you guys think it is? Its hard to see because its a cell video but when the knock noise happens the entire engine shakes.

To me it sounds like the timing is off and one of the pistons is smacking a valve. I hope not, that would equal head work once again.
If its definately comming from inside the block.
1. Valves
2. Loose Piston
3. Rod bearings
4. Main bearings
5. Piston slap

IMHO I would take it back to the same shop and tell them its still not fixed.

I am taking it back to the dealer on monday. I was actually lucky to catch a video of it this morning. It doesnt always happen and it actually quit the noise at the end of the video. Thats whats weird. It only happens every now and then and then it lasts like 2 mins.

I've heard a 4.7L "float a valve" and from your cell video it sounds the same. The valve springs didn't have enough compression and you can imagine the rest. I would certainly try to not drive it and get it back to the shop that worked on it.

My guess is you have a valve sticking and it is being hit with a piston. If they have recently done a valve job, then I would say they installed a soft spring and/or a tight guide.
Put back on them to fix it correctly.

Good Luck...

It's not a faulty clutch on the AC compressor is it???
Or is the noise lower down the engine?

The noise seems to be coming from where the head meets the block. I just dont get why it only does it sometimes.. Hopefully the shop will have a better answer monday.
