Default Tow Mirrors

I just wanted to get some input before i drop some money on some new tow mirrors, like if anyone knew a good place other than ebay to buy some. and i also wanted to know if anyone purchased a set of "aftermarket, direct replacement" they look exactly the same and i found a pair for $227 shipped for the "aftermarket" ones which look the same, and $299 shipped for mopar tow mirrors. i dont have a problem buying after markey especially since ill be saving $75 but i would rather spend the extra money if theyre going to fade and be cheapy, just wanted some input and maybe someone has some info on the aftermarkets...

I can't say. I would like a pair myself, but I'm sure the power/heated ones are a bit pricey!!

i just ordered the mopar ones...$299 shipped power/heated. a buddy on cummins forum said the material isnt cheap like it wont fade, but the mirror itself rattles like hell, and thats what my main concern was since i had one of our work trucks, GMC 6500 loose a mirror last month, i ordered an aftermarket mirror and the b*tch shakes so bad you could barely see but i thought that may because of the fact its a work truck, but i guess not...so MOPAR OEM it is!

iv messed around with a few cheapo mirrors in the past
then i saw these on the mopar site>>> http://www.mopar-accessories.com/en-...=3145&pc=34066

these ones are listed as non power/heated, but i got them heated/powered
and they are the best ones iv ever seen, or used
when you flip them up for towing they have excellent field of vision and are very solid even at 70mph+
i hate having bad mirrors on my truck, especially when towing

these might be the same ones you just ordered

Whats up stranger?? I went with the OEM mirrors because I heard the same thing about the aftermarket ones starting to rattle loose after a year or so!

What are you doing on the Cummins forum??

ya i got the OEM ones and i thought $299 was a deal for mopar tow mirrors...so i went with them. and mine are gonna be flipped up pretty much the whole time lol, i like that look better.

dodge nitto, ya man its been awhile since ive been on here as much as i used to, but ive been coming back more and more trying to help out where i can. as for cummins forum, call me stupid because i keep putting some things on my truck that i plan on selling within a short time period, but i figure with me going to college *FSU* in the fall, i may be keeping it for another year and selling it, but i figure if theres still some things i want i can enjoy them for the next year and they can always be removed and slod, but ive been looking at a few CTDs in the last few months...right now i have the money to get one, i just dont want to get a loan on anything and since i cant drive a stock vehicle i need about 6 grand for wheels tires and a lift lol, so once i hit another 7 grand ill take the plunge lol.

oh and does anyone know how or if you can take the mirror apart? i ordered this 3 LED light strip thats pretty small and sleek and i plan on using that as running lights on the outside of the mirror like the ford f-250's have. oh and can i use the same LED strip to finction as running lights and blinker? i thought have a single ground but splice the power wire and run it to both the running lights and blinker, so the running lights come on, but when i hit the blinker that will over ride the running light and the LEDs would blink, not sure if that would work though...
