our truck got broken into

Sucks. I bought my truck as a theft recovery. It's amazing how easy it is for someone to break into a Ram. All it takes is a screwdriver under the door handle and your in. I want to make my own plates that block the back side of the door handle. Or you could buy them for $100 (quad cab), which seems like a rip off to me.

and we're gonna re-key the driver door and ignition- they TOOK the door handle and key tumbler with them...i figure they can (if they have the tools) use the tumbler and figure out what key it takes, then come back and just put their key in the truck and drive off.
also, the ram is now in the garage, after buying $700 in replacement tools and clearing and cleaning the garage. And dad hasn't replaced the two fluke meters....the 700 is just stuff like sockets, pliers, wrenches, ect.
Thankfully, the rigid power tools were under the tonneau, not in the suitcase.

that's a risk we're not taking. they took the door handle with them and wiped their prints from the door, so they knew exactly what they were doing. Dad's calling gieco in the morning, and we're told that homeowners may cover some of the stolen equip, not sure till we call. He already sent his boss an email- they got 4 sets of work clothes, 3 boxes of spare parts for medical equip, $600 in hand tools, a pair of $300 FLUKE multi-meters, a $30 leather company work bag (with company name printed on it), and $50 suitcase on wheels. So about $1300 total or so.
It looked like they may have made a quick attampt at the tonneau, the tailgate had a huge dent in it before, and we notice today 2 or 3 smaller scratches in the top. Thankfully, the tonneau goes over the bed and latches under the rails, so they'd have to break through the fiberglass to get into it.
