for a 4x4, you'd need a front set and a rear set at roughly $200 per set. Master install kit for about $100. Going labor rate for install is about $300 per axle, so you'd be right at about $1100 before tax. For a good LSD you can add between $450 and $550 more...
Just went to check on Pyro's truck, almost done. The guy said that he would have had about 100 miles on the rear diff before it exploded. ALL factory LSD "C-Clips" were not to be found, just a "pile" of shavings in the carrier. NICE!!!
Obviously, someone is seriously slacking on the required maintenance on their truck. Mods should lead by example The fluid should be checked every 500 miles when you have a factory LSD
how much do 4.56's usually cost?
...you guys are a terrible influence, I'm about to do this LOL
If you do get it done, could you tell me where you went, if you can get a good price? I’m just curious, since I talked to some people I know, and couldn’t find many places that do gear swaps around here. The only places that I heard about were XX Tuning in East Hartford, but they focus mainly on import/tuner vehicles. J&M in Manchester, but I knew someone that went there, and they didn’t do too good of a job. And then Jannetty Racing in Waterbury, where I went. I knew a few people that went there, and heard that they do a great job and know what they’re doing, but unfortunately, they’re not the cheapest.
