So, if i bought my ram used (which i did), it's an 03. And my engine blows, i can take it to dodge and they will fix it cause it's only at 65k miles? It's the 4.7L. I didn't know the warrenties were transferable?

You can put whatever you want in your truck. Just don't pontificate. The one I posted is the 04 manual. Your 05 manual says the EXACT same thing they all say from 2003 to 2009 (posted for your viewing pleasure below). Range 87-89, 89 for OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE. First is 2005, second is 2009. Have a nice day.

Didn't miss a damn thing. I READ the whole thing. Big 89. RECOMMENDED FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE. The old school rule of thumb for what octane you needed was 10 times your compression ratio, for us about 90 octane. With todays computer controls you have a bit more leeway. I'm not saying do or don't. What I'm tired of hearing is the "I'm better than you because I put higher octane gas in my truck" attitude as this topic pops up every few months to the same result. My truck runs like a raped ape at 95000 miles and feels as strong as it did at 28000 (and I don't baby it, I live in NY right now). I run regular in it. The only time I don't is if I get sent TAD down south or spend extended time with my family south of here (both where gas is cheaper). Then I reprogram it for the 93 tune and use premium.

Just put some Lucas or SeaFoam fuel additive in them and call it a day. These products do wonders.

Ethanol boosts octane levels so if you live in an area where they add ethanol and buy regular 87 wouldn't it come out close to 89?

According to the can it:

Cleans Injectors, Cleans Carb Jets, Stabilizes Fuel, Frees Lifters-Rings, Carbon Cleaner, Upper Cylinder Lube, De-Icer Anti Gel, Cures hesitations, stalls, pings, and rough idle.

These products are good to use a preventitive measure. My Ram only has 29K miles and I plan on using these products every 3 or so weeks. From what I hear..these products should prevent engine problems down the road.
