Question Need info by tomorrow - please help!!!

I went down to the parts department to pick up the transcooler I ordered today and it was the right yet wrong part. It was for the 05 2500's and was their HD cooler. The cooler was an 16-18 row aluminum cooler (about the same size that is in my truck now, maybe a few rows taller, and slightly deeper). The one I wanted to get was the 24-26 row cooler which I guess is found on the 03-04 2500's before they made the switch to the new aluminum one.

So will the one for the 04 fit on the 05?
Why did they switch them between 04 and 05?
Is the one for the 05' model superior to the 04'?
Do they flow and cool the same?

I need to find this info ASAP so I know if I need to order a new one for the 04 (take about a week and $200 to get it) or buy the one made for the 05 HD for a little less tomorrow during lunch.

Well mainly because it was highly reccomened by quite a few people to help keep things cooler not just because of the new converter but also because of the remaining mods in combination with it. With it pulling harder and moving much faster than stock the extra insurance of keeping the trans cool is something i dont want to skimp on.

The Torque Converter will increase power to the wheels, it does not ad power but more along the lines of freeing up some extra power through the drive train (same thing as doing the electric fan mod, only the percentage free'd up is a bit more). The upgraded trans cooler though is to keep it as cool as possible with the converter and other mods adding more power and torque.

Why don't you just put an aftermarket one in series with the OEM? Run thru the OEM, then thru the aftermarket one back to the trans. A lot cheaper and more effective!!

All the aftermarket ones are remote mounted ones, none of the ones I have looked at or found have been a direct bolt on replacement. Repiping the trans lines is not something I want to deal with.

All I need to really know is what the difference between the two coolers are, or if one is cooling better than the other

So does anyone know if the aluminum 18 row HD cooler cools better than the 04's 26 row, steel cooler? That is really the main question I need answered. Or at least pointed in a direction to find out....
