No problem. I was not trying to be a smarta$$, I just have talked to many people that really do not know how to figure out tire dimensions and make mistakes in getting the right size replacement tires and whatnot.
No, I took it as you were pointing out that something wasn't right and in the back of my mind I knew it wasn't adding up. Much appreciated.. really busy and lost focus on the details. Thanks...
Any help would be appreciated..............I installed the McGuaghy's 2/4.5 spindle kit a few weeks ago, everything seemed to be fine. Yesterday I noticed a vibration in the rearend at 20-35 mph. I double checked everything yesterday after work and it's all tight. It seems like the rearend is moving around, if I hit the brakes hard you can hear the rearend move and also if I shift to reverse and gas the truck a little bit, you can hear a clunk in the back. Any ideas???? I am getting so aggravated that I almost want to put it back to stock.
astock, I spoke with Bob at Moe's about a flip kit. Bob mentioned that sometimes there is a problem with the spring pad breaking loose from the axle. Apparently the spring pad is only spot welded to the axle and when using the flip kit the pad comes under additional stress breaking loose from the axle. The fix is to add addition weld to the front of the pad making it more securely mounted to the axle. Hope this helps...
ive had mine on for close to a year now and havent had a problem with it yet. but i guess it wouldnt hurt to throw a few more welds on while its all apart. better to be safe than sorry right!?

Thats exactly what I am thinking. I would hate to have it let go under acceleration and destroy a driveshaft.
That is exactly what happened with mine. The axle twisted enough to break the pad weld at the rear. I think it might be moving again, so I will have to look into the welding thing.
im sure you could just take it in to your local muffler shop and get them to weld it up for you right quick. they prolly wouldnt even charge you as it such a small job... thats my guess anyways

It is good you found the problem. I'm about to install a flip kit and will weld it during the install.
