Red Truck- do you have an idea of how tall your front bump stops are? I was looking into changing mine also and I ran across some 1" tall bumps that I was going to order.
The OEM bump stop buckets are spot welded on opposite sides. I ground off the nearest side weld and drove a heavy screw driver under the bucket and broke it off. Then ground the weld off and painted the area.
Note: I first cut the bump to 1-1/2" and got a rub at extreme compression. With them at 1-5/8" I do not rub under any conditions.
Good luck....
hey so im ordering a 2" shackle drop for my 2006 ram 4x4 and i wanna get some helper bags for the rear so im not squatting all winter when pulling around the three place snowmobile trailer. so my question is when i put the shackle drop on is there a special helper bag i need like one for lowered trucks? or will i be fine with ordering just some regular helper bags?
you'll be fine just ordering regular helper bags, id say get a heavy duty kit. something that can haul alot of weight (just to be safe), but most kits dont come with air. so if you want on board air then you'll most likely have to buy a compressor and valves seperatley

I just installed my 2 inch drop shackles (McGaughys). I got a full 2 inches of drop (from 38 7/8 to 36 7/8). I already had Firestone helper bags. And after the drop there is no interference. Mine is RWD but I'm sure you won't have any problems on your 4x4. I haven't driven the truck yet. But I sure the ride will be better since I have new shocks on all 4 corners.
I forgot to deflate the bags before I started (the instructions for the helper bags mention to completely deflate the bags anytime the rear wheels are raised off the ground). So after I installed the shackles on my ride height was only about an inch of drop. But when I deflated the helper bags down she went.
ND2 shocks? do you mean N2D (nitro 2 drop) shocks? cuz if you do i will vouche for 'em, there good stuff! i have them on my truck. rides like a caddy, till i bottom out haha. ill get those helper bags on there when i get home
